Puppy Preschool

At Colac Veterinary Clinic we now offer puppy preschool for pups less than 16 weeks of age.
This is a fantastic way develop a bond with your puppy and give them a head start to their life with you.

The first 16 weeks of your puppy’s life make up the most important development phase – it is a critical time for socialisation, and when good (and bad!) behaviours become ingrained. Our training is based around positive reward-based techniques, where pups are encouraged and rewarded for good behaviour, rather than being disciplined for those that are undesirable.

Benefits of Puppy Preschool:

  • A safe environment to be socialised amongst other puppies, people and stimuli
  • Basic obedience training
  • Build confidence in your puppy in new situations
  • Education on training your pup to decrease unwanted behaviours such as chewing, inappropriate urination, nipping, barking etc.
  • Basic healthcare and education on topics including vaccination, worming, desexing, toxins

This is delivered over a 5 week course, as a 1 hour session once per week. The first session is puppy-free and designed as an introduction to puppy socialisation and behaviour, to allow everyone to get the most out of each session when our pups are involved.
